Key responsibility for Esher Cricket Club is run by the Management Committee listed below:

Jonathan Robinson - President

Robbo has been a member at Esher since the age of 6. He is currently Deputy Secretary-Commercial at the MCC having previously played professional cricket for Surrey. He was appointed President in 2009.

Geoff Ellis - Chairman

Geoff Ellis became Chairman of Esher CC in 2013 having been Treasurer for the previous 5 years. He is a passionate lover of all things cricket, especially development of young cricketers, boys and girls. He comes from a cricketing family and is a (lapsed) playing member of MCC.

Jonathan Manuel - Treasurer

Jonathan lives in Thames Ditton and both his sons have played at Esher, his youngest son will be in the the U16s in 2018.  Jonathan is a chartered accountant who has worked in industry for most of his career and became treasurer in 2015.

David Reed - Welfare Officer

David Reed is the Esher CC Welfare Officer and has responsibility for safeguarding / child protection across the club.  His son and daughter both play cricket at Esher CC in their respective age groups.

Pete Slaney – Chairman Young Cricketers

Pete joined Esher CC in 2014. He is a full-time cricket coach engaged in coaching youth cricket at Esher, as age group manager, St. Paul’s School and Middlesex Richmond Borough. Plus other clubs in the region. Although Pete was with Derbyshire CCC in his younger days, he now prefers to watch his son’s play cricket at Esher.

Matt Sabben-Clare - Secretary

Matt joined Esher in 2015 and currently plays in the 2nd XI. He was appointed Secretary of the Club in 2016. Matt grew up playing locally in Hampshire and Dorset, and has played for clubs including Old Wykehamists and I Zingari. His son and his older daughter have played in their age groups at Esher.

Duncan Pauline – General Manager / Fixture Secretary / Director of Youth Coaching

Duncan has been an Esher member since 1993 and held a number of playing positions within the Club. Duncan played professional cricket for Surrey, Glamorgan and Scotland having represented England at U19 level. Duncan was appointed General Manager in 2002 and combines this role with Head of YC Coaching at the Club, appointed in this position since 1998.

Jonathan Barrett (JB)

JB joined Esher CC in 2007. He is a qualified cricket coach has been actively engaged in coaching youth cricket at both Esher, as age group manager, and Surrey Central District. Previously he played for Teddington CC, Middlesex Cricket Board and Wiltshire CCC. He is currently a playing member of the MCC and XL club.

Vince Chandler

A member of Esher CC since 2004, prior to that Vince played for Bank of England CC in Surrey Championship for over 20 years. Vince chairs a small sub committee of the club which meets throughout each winter to ensure the club has appropriate playing strength for the following season. In addition Vince remains an active member of the MCC and XL Club, although only on the golf course.

John Woollhead - 3rd XI Captain

A member of Esher CC since 2002 John has held the roles of Chairman (2009 to 2013), Chairman of Youth cricket (2005 to 2012) and 2nd XI captain (2005 & 2006) at the club. John is a playing member of the MCC and previous clubs include Richmond CC, Wokingham, Cobham Avorians CC and Berkshire CCC in the Minor Counties Championship.

Pete Blackhurst – Social Secretary

A member of Esher CC since 2013, Pete has held the role of Social Secretary since 2014 and organises many events throughout the year. Pete is a regular member of the 1st XI and 2nd XI and previous clubs include Bridgnorth CC, he also played for Shropshire U12-U16. Pete is currently undertaking his level 2 coaching certificate and will be the joint Under 5’s Manager/Coach in 2018/2019.

Will Edwards – 1st XI Captain

Will joined Esher in 2015 after moving down from Lincolnshire and was appointed 1st X1 captain in 2016. His previous cricketing experience includes playing minor counties for Lincolnshire and 2nd X1  cricket for Leicestershire. As well playing seasons in both Perth and Auckland.

Alex Mason – 2nd XI Captain

Chris Burton - 4th XI Captain

Chris made his Esher CC debut in 2008 having previously played for Chipstead & Coulsdon in his younger days and Sunday friendly cricket for the legendary Magdalen CC. Chris was captain of the promoted and undefeated 3rd XI in 2017 having previously being asked to ‘look after the team for one game’ in 2013. He has also played an active part in generating sponsorship income for the club.

Ali Birkby

Ali Joined Esher in 2017 after graduating from Loughborough University. He has played for High Wycombe and Gerrards Cross while previously playing for Middlesex and Northants. He is also a playing member of the MCC

Nick Woollhead

Nick joined Esher Cricket club in 2001 and has played in every age group and adult team at the Club. He represented Surrey at U10 and U11 and is a qualified level 2 coach.

A Sarasota tourist, Nick currently works in the City for Deloitte, is new to the Esher management team in 2019 and looking forward to contributing both on and off the field.

Chris Parrish

Chris joined Esher Cricket Club in 2001 and has played an integral role in every age group and across the board in the adult teams at the club. A founding member of the ‘U19 Esher Eagles/, Chris has led the way in on-and-off field activities and is an integral part of the club.

A fundamental part of the victorious Sarasota tour, Chris has taken up added responsibility as part of the Esher Management team and is excited to play an important role in the years to come’
