Esher Cricket Club survives thanks to the generosity of a number of volunteers who invest their time and effort in the running and development of the club. Volunteers come in all shapes, sizes, ages and backgrounds and in order to flourish further we need your help. We would love to hear from you regardless of what you can offer!
In particular, we’re currently looking for the following:
Umpires and Scorers
The club is always looking for umpires and scorers for adult and youth cricket. Whether you’re experienced at both or would like to learn, please do get in contact. Courses are available to help develop your skills.
Age Group Social Manager
Each youth age group is run by a qualified Age Group Manager (‘AGM’) and these wonderful people invest a huge amount of time on and off the field ensuring our youth cricketers develop their skills and enjoy their Esher Cricket Club experiences. We are looking for Age Group Social Managers (‘AGSM’) in each group to provide support to each AGM on the more social side of things, whether it be coordinating support on match days or facilitating communications regarding club events like the ECC Comedy Night, ECC Quiz Night, ECC City Lunch and of course the ECC End of Season Dinner.
End of Season Ball Committee
The End of Season Ball is the highlight of the Esher Cricket Club social calendar – it’s also a highly important fundraiser for the club. This year the baton has been passed to Elizabeth Burton and Cat Sabban-Clare, but an enormous amount of time and effort is required to make it a success so if you can give up some time to help, please contact us.
We’re looking for someone to knit the club together and reach out to the local community. General consensus is that the club has a rich and diverse, but mainly untapped membership, many of whom are yet to connect so we’re looking for someone to provide some joined up thinking and create a multi-focused and dynamic communications strategy. This is a very open-ended role so please get in touch and let us know what you’d like to make of the role.
In any event, we would love to hear from you even if it’s to offer something different to the above.
